SAccording to the Ministry of Energy Transition, 29.7% of service stations are experiencing difficulties with a product at least Sunday at 3 p.m., compared to 21% on Saturday. Tensions crystallize in Hauts-de-France, where 54.8% of stations are affected, and in Île-de-France, with 44.9%. Faced with this, the government decided to release part of its reserves and authorized the tanker trucks to circulate this weekend.
Elisabeth Borne assured Sunday that the fuel supply tensions in service stations would “improve throughout the week”, as “deliveries” arrive, in particular from French “strategic stocks”. “The situation will improve throughout the week,” said the Prime Minister to a few journalists, on the sidelines of a trip to Algeria. “We have released strategic stocks” of fuels “to supply service stations” and “these deliveries are coming gradually”, she continued. “The measures we have taken have made it possible to increase deliveries by 20% compared to the usual flows”, further specified the head of government, saying that she was following the evolution “very closely”.
A strike that lasts
A strike has been going on for ten days in refineries and fuel depots, causing supply disruptions. The TotalEnergies group has proposed bringing forward its annual wage negotiations to October, on condition that the strikes in several refineries and fuel depots end. “Subject to the end of the blocking of deposits and the agreement of all the social partners, the Company proposes to anticipate in October the mandatory annual negotiation which was planned for November”, announced the group on Sunday. in a press release.
