Nearphones: JVC launches new headphones to stay aware of your surroundings

A few months ago, Sony announced the release of the LinkBuds, a pair of true wireless headphones in a very particular open format that allow you to remain perfectly aware of your environment in all circumstances. Now it’s JVC’s turn to launch its non-intrusive pair of headphones with the Nearphones (or HA-NP35T for fans of complicated naming).

Nearphones differ greatly from LinkBuds in design, however. Here, it is not a question of design with holes but of an outgrowth which is placed on the top of the pavilion. This has a 16 mm speaker supported by a bass reflex structure that diffuses the sound near the ear canal. This particular design therefore allows you to enjoy your music while remaining fully aware of what is happening around you. Given their particular design, there is obviously no question of active noise reduction.

To guarantee their maintenance, the Nearphones are equipped with a fin which is housed at the back of the ear and which, according to JVC, would in no way interfere with the wearing of glasses or a surgical mask. Certified IPX4, the Nearphones are thus resistant to splashes of water and sweat, provided they are properly maintained after each sports session.

The headphones communicate using Bluetooth 5.1 and are only compatible with the SBC codec. They each carry two microphones as well as an ambient noise reduction system guaranteeing high quality calls according to the brand. In addition, each earphone is independent and can therefore be used individually. Finally, the autonomy is announced at 7 hours per charge, with an additional 10 hours thanks to the case.

The HA-NP35T are already available in black, white or blue at a price of €89.90.
