Neighbor heard screams – 30-year-old fell from six meters on concrete

The fact that he did not use a safety device during his work was fatal to a 30-year-old on Saturday morning in Hinzenbach (Upper Austria). The man fell from a height of six meters onto a concrete floor and survived with serious injuries.

The do-it-yourselfer apparently wanted to carry out preparatory work for the installation of a photovoltaic system on his house. The 30-year-old tried to fit rails inside his garage in Hinzenbach, on which the photovoltaic panels would later be attached. In doing so, he crawled along the outer wall below the roof (wall bench). Lost his balance. He probably did not secure himself, which unfortunately had fatal consequences. The man lost his balance and fell from a height of six meters, hitting a concrete floor. Since he worked alone, there were no witnesses to his accident. Neighbor set rescue chain in motion Luckily, a neighbor heard the screams and alerted the emergency services. The seriously injured man received first aid from the emergency doctor and was transported to the hospital in Wels by ambulance.
