(CercleFinance.com) – Neoen announces that it has received the international distinction Latam Battery Storage Deal of the Year, awarded by IJGlobal, a specialized magazine which annually celebrates the best transactions and organizations in the energy and infrastructure sectors throughout the world.
The award recognizes the innovation shown by Neoen in El Salvador to carry out the largest battery project in Central America, supplying a total of 11 MW to Neoen’s Capella (140 MWp) and Providencia (101 MWp) solar parks.
The batteries’ millisecond response time will improve the quality of primary and secondary reserve services, thereby improving the stability and reliability of the power grid.
The batteries will also reduce CO2 emissions by around 5,000 metric tons per year, avoiding the use of fossil fuel power plants for ancillary services.
