  • According to the operators, around a fifth of the infrastructure of the mega urban development project NEOM has been completed.
  • The construction work around the 170-kilometer-long “The Line” building is making great progress.
  • This was announced by NEOM CEO Nadhmi al-Nasr in Davos.

Several spectacular building projects are currently under construction in Saudi Arabia. In addition to Mukaab, a 400 x 400 x 400 meter cube with a skyscraper inside, NEOM in particular is making a name for itself. Among other things, The Line is to be created here. This is a 170 kilometer (!) long building in which several million people will one day find a home.

As NEOM CEO Nadhmi al-Nasr announced in an interview, all construction phases are proceeding according to plan. “I can confirm that around 20 percent of the infrastructure around NEOM has been completed and will continue to be worked on in 2023,” said the CEO.

Those responsible for the project expect that the first buildings will be ready to move into before 2030. The first NEOM city named Sindalah will open its doors to visitors and interested parties in 2024, provided everything goes according to plan.

NEOM, which is under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, recently published a video on the construction progress. In this, the four cities of Sindalah, Trojena, Oxagon and The Line are presented in more detail.

Note: An earlier version of this article stated that one-fifth of the overall NEOM project was complete. However, CEO Nadhmi al-Nasr referred to the infrastructure in his statement. We have adjusted the headline and text accordingly and apologize.
