(CercleFinance.com) – Néovacs announced on Monday the signing of a collaboration and research contract with the CNRS relating to the joint development of new formulations of messenger RNA.

In a press release, the biotech indicates that it has entered into an agreement with the UTCBS laboratory headed by Dr Nathalie Mignet, specializing in lipid vesicles for gene transfer.

Néovacs and the team’s researchers intend to work together on lipid formulations to deliver mRNA to target proteins for human and veterinary use.

The biotechnology company, which is developing several mRNA vaccines for asthma, food allergies and psoriasis, plans to cover the costs of this new project for an amount estimated at 100,000 euros.

In return, the company will benefit from an exclusive and worldwide operating right on the lipids used in the formulation of mRNA vaccines in humans and animals, for therapeutic and prophylactic use.
