Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima: the coffee machine that condenses the excellence of the Swiss giant

The Vertuo Lattissima is the fusion of two iconic Nespresso coffee machines. The Vertuo range is now joining forces with the Lattissima series, specializing in the preparation of coffee with milk and this is timely, because this is exactly what the Vertuo series was missing. This range, which is aimed at lovers of X(X)L coffees, does not only stand out from the Swiss giant’s other coffee machines by its capacity to prepare large cups of coffee; It is above all its infusion and extraction system that makes this series famous. This technology, called Centrifusion, involves extending the infusion of the grounds and using centrifugal force to make a coffee of “high quality” in 230 ml mug format. Thus, the aromas of the coffee would be preserved – including on an XL preparation – ensuring a coffee foam worthy of the best baristas.

The Vertuo series also includes an optical reader with automatic recognition of the capsule by barcode to optimize the extraction parameters for each preparation. In order to fully exploit this function, specific capsules have been available in three sizes for three cup lengths: espresso (40 ml), long coffee (150 ml) and mug (230 ml). As its name suggests, the Vertuo Lattissima is equipped with a carafe for preparing milk drinks. This is the same model as the one fitted to the Nespresso Lattissima One. This non-insulated milk carafe is removable and capable of holding 500 ml of milk, allowing you to make your choice of cappuccino, caffè latte or latte macchiato. The handling of this machine once again seems simplified to the extreme. One button allows you to start a coffee, the other to activate the milk carafe.

While the Vertuo range of coffee machines have a number of advantages, such as the automatic capsule ejection system, the capsule reader and rapid water heating, the overall preparation time slows down the preparation of coffee the most. morning (the fault of reading the capsule and the extraction settings). But where the problem lies even more is in the cost of capsules compatible with the Vertuo series. Allow at least 45 cents for an espresso, 50 cents for a long coffee and 60 cents for a mug. Note that in addition, these capsules are not available in supermarkets and that there are no compatible alternatives yet.

Already available, the Vertuo Lattissima is sold at €399.
