JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that Israeli troops had made advances on the outskirts of Gaza City, located in the north of the Palestinian enclave, as part of their offensive intended to “eradicate “Hamas.
“We are at the height of the battle. We are achieving impressive successes and we have crossed the outskirts of Gaza City. We are moving forward,” he said in a statement published by his services, without further details. .
During a press briefing, Benjamin Netanyahu also declared that the Israeli government had not made any decision on the delivery of fuel to the Gaza Strip, while ensuring that it would provide the Palestinian population with obligatory humanitarian aid such as food and water.
“I have not given any instructions to this effect and the war government has not taken any decision of this kind,” he told journalists, referring to the government of national unity set up last month to focus on the offensive delivered against Hamas in response to the attack of October 7.
