With its connected thermostats and thermostatic heads, Netatmo is one of the leaders in intelligent heating management. But that of freshness was absent from its catalog, a lack now corrected with the arrival of the Netatmo Smart Air Conditioner Control. A small object that will take control of an air conditioner or an air-air heat pump, and bring them a dose of intelligence.

An infrared master pebble

The Netatmo Smart Air Conditioner Control takes the form of an elegant black and white pebble. It turns out to be quite discreet with dimensions of 125 x 65 x 20 mm for 79 g. It is designed to be simply laid flat or hung on a wall. However, it will be necessary to think about the power source by having a socket nearby.

Its role is therefore to take control of your air conditioner or air-to-air heat pump by simulating their remote control. But while the competition is often limited to a single LED for unidirectional emission. The Netatmo Smart Air Conditioner Control embeds six of them, for a 360° multidirectional transmission.

A bit of intelligence for your air conditioner?

On paper, this allows you to place your Smart Air Conditioner Control anywhere in the target room and control the air conditioner, as long as it stays within its 10 meter range. The manufacturer promises a very complete air-to-air air conditioner and heat pump database, as well as pairing of rare simplicity. If you use a product not referenced by the manufacturer, you will just have to go through a learning mode.

The Netatmo Smart Control should therefore give us finer control of its air conditioner via a smartphone with the Home + Control app.

This includes all the commands offered by the air conditioner remote control. This generally includes switching on and off, as well as managing the ventilation power or the desired temperature. The French manufacturer also offers to define a cooling or heating schedule (for air-air heat pumps). Added to this is geolocation to automatically turn off the air conditioning when you leave your home and turn it back on shortly before you return.

The Netatmo Smart Air Conditioner Control is available from today at a price of 119.99 euros per unit or 199.99 euros for a two-pack.
