After “Creep”, “The Creep Tapes”: Mark Duplass announces the release of a series based on the horror saga of which he was the star 10 years ago!
Nearly a decade after the release of the first Creep, Mark Duplass will return to the role of the film’s flagship serial killer in a new series this time, called The Creep Tapes, inspired by the two horror feature films in which he was the lead. star.
According to IndieWire, he has already completed production of the show which should further explore the victims of the killer in question. The Creep Tapes would currently be on sale to buyers. The series is co-created by Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice, the films director, who also directed every episode of its television version.
Few details have been revealed about the series but it is known that it will resemble his older films, featuring a collection of found footage revealing each of the killer’s victims.
“The series is based on a collection of videotapes in the secret vault of the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer, who hires his victims to film them for a day under false pretenses”, Duplass said in a statement (via IndieWire). “Each episode exposes a new victim from one of the legendary ‘Creep Tapes’.”
In addition to this announcement, Mark Duplass also posted a TikTok video, in which he wears the killer costume again, teasing that the series should be “coming soon.” Check out these images below:
What is Creep about?
The first film, released in 2014, featured Mark Duplass as a seemingly ordinary man named Josef, alongside the film’s director as Aaron. Aaron had been hired by the killer to follow him for a day to make a film for his unborn child. Aaron then realized that Josef was not the man he claimed to be, his requests becoming more and more bizarre as the day went on. Creep 2, released in 2017, followed the same principle, following a videographer in search of an extraordinary story…
No release date has yet been set for The Creep Tapes. The two Creep films can be (re)discovered in streaming on Netflix.
