A new live adaptation for Netflix

Written and drawn by Kōhei Horikoshi, published in 2014, the manga My Hero Academia has enjoyed increasing success over the years, leading to an anime adaptation in 2016. The story is that of Izuku Midoriya, a human without superpowers in a world where 80% of the population has them. The six seasons of the animated series can be seen on the Crunchyroll platform.

In addition to the animated series, the manga has had three adaptations in animated films and the universe of My Hero Academia is not about to stop its expansion with this live-action adaptation.

  • Watch the series trailer:

Director Shinsuke Sato, already at the helm of adaptations Alice in Borderland and Bleach, should take care of the staging. The film is written by Jody Harold (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and co-produced by Netflix and Legendary Entertainment.

This isn’t the first time the streaming platform has adapted a cult anime. Subscribers have already been able to discover the live versions of the series Death Note (2017), Fullmetal Alchemist (2017) or even cowboy bebop (2021). A live action film One Piece is also in production. If the quality of these adaptations is very uneven, they remain popular with fans and allow you to take advantage of a cult and already established universe.

No release date has yet been announced for this film. My Hero Academiabut Digital will of course keep you informed.
