Tender Claws developer and netflix have just announced the arrival for the end of 2023 of a VR game taking place in the universe of the series Stranger Things.

Want to embody Eleven or one of her friends? It missed.

The Stranger Things universe is far from being set aside

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things probably won’t be right away. However, Netflix certainly does not intend to let this beloved universe and this lucrative brand disappear anytime soon. Besides already some relatively modest video games (and an experience in VR, Stranger Things: The VR Experience), in the future, in addition to potential spin-off series, there will be a virtual reality video game.

Developed by Tender Claws studio (Virtual Virtual Reality 1 and 2), this title (for the moment?) soberly baptized Stranger Things VR should arrive for the winter of 2023. A first teaser is out and this one reveals an important element: the player will embody Vecna.

It’s good to be bad

For those who haven’t seen season 4 (flee, spoilers!), the latter is none other than the main antagonist who faces Eleven and her gang. A choice that changes a little from the usual heroes and heroines, hoping that it will bring something to the gameplay side.

For the more curious, the exact description of the game is as follows: Become an explorer of unknown realities as you train the hive mind and tame the void. Invade spirits and summon nightmares in your quest for revenge on Eleven and Hawkins “.

This title with a good-natured atmosphere will therefore mix action and psychological horror, which should certainly not predestine it for any audience. Especially in VR, where the effects of horror games can be increased tenfold.

Regarding the media, it is only specified that the game will arrive on the “main VR platforms”. The Meta Quest 2 and why not Sony’s future PlayStation VR 2 should therefore at least be concerned.
