Netflix has just released the first teaser for its black comedy White Noise, the adaptation of the novel Background noise by Don DeLillo by writer and director Noah Baumbach. Adam Driver plays the role of Jack Gladney, professor specializing in Hitler at a university of letters and social sciences and humanities in the Midwest. In the original novel, Gladney, his wife, Babette (Greta Gerwig), and their children must deal with a poison gas leak that descends on their town and puts them all in danger. Raffey CassidyAlessandro Nivola, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lars Eidinger, Don Cheadle and André Benjamin, better known as André 3000 from the group Outkast, complete the cast.

May the days be aimless. Let the seasons follow one another. Be totally unpredictable.“, says Adam Driver in this teaser, before the sound of a gun being charged introduces the title of the film. White Noise is the first adaptation of Noah Baumbach who had written all his films until then. DeLillo’s original novel was first published in 1985 and won the National Book Award, one of America’s most prestigious literary honors.
