There is something for everyone on Netflix this weekend: either for fans of icy survival films, for thriller fans or for those viewers who would like to see a homely family comedy. We introduce you to our 3 highlights on Netflix for the weekend!

Start streaming Against the Ice on Netflix now.

When the world was not yet fully explored, explorers kept going to hostile areas – with no guarantee that they would ever return. Against the Ice tells such a story: Two Danish scientists, with the crew of a ship, traveled to Greenland in 1909 to prove that the huge island does not consist of two parts. In the freezing cold, they abandon the ship and actually find what they were looking for. However, when they return, they come across the wreckage of the ship – and the struggle for survival begins.

Based on a true story, Against the Ice is the first Netflix original film shot in Iceland.

The family comedy An invisible thread promises to be a heartwarming film about an ordinary family made up of two married men and their son. 16-year-old Leonne lives with his fathers in Italy and is making a documentary about them when coming-of-age worries and a real problem throw the family upside down. An invisible fader should be charming, create a good mood and still discuss a few important topics of our time – what could be better to round off a relaxed evening?
