Broadcast every two weeks since November 12, the Netflix Club deciphers the springs of making your favorite films and series. Exclusive images, making-of sequences and professional analyzes are presented to you with humor and lightness by R.Jonathan Lambert, and his team made up of comedian Morgane Cadignan and youtuber Clara Runaway, in an original setting.

After two episodes devoted respectively to stunts and special effects, this new Netflix Club is interested in animated cinema, and more specifically in Pinocchio by Guillermo Del Toro. The opportunity to better understand all the secrets of “stop motion” in the company of Georgina Hayns, professional puppeteer, but also many other manufacturing elements!

An episode of the most… lively!

After Pan’s Labyrinth and The Shape of Water, Oscar-winning director Guillermo Del Toro teams up with animator Mark Gustafson to give Netflix subscribers the ultimate Christmas present: a personal and original adaptation of the famous story of Pinocchio.

If animation seduces and impresses, few are those who know its stages of creation. From the design of the models, to the dubbing of the characters, this third episode of the Netflix Club allows us to dive behind the scenes of the feature film available since December 9 on the platform. All thanks to the expertise of Georgina Hayns, the film’s “head of puppet”.

The original decor that welcomes the speakers is an enormous bubble, both spectacular and agile. And the backdrop of this new edition should not leave animation enthusiasts indifferent, since it was shot at the Gobelins school of image, a world-renowned Parisian establishment, from which Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec graduated. (The Swallows of Kabul), Éric Bergeron (A Monster in Paris) or Riad Sattouf (Les Beaux Gosses).
