  • Netflix is cutting its subscription fees in over 100 countries worldwide.
  • There are price reductions in Kenya and the Philippines, among other places.
  • The most significant discounts for the basic package are up to 50 percent.

Prices are rising everywhere – and Netflix is now actually reducing its subscription costs in various countries. More than 100 countries are to benefit from more favorable new prices for the Basic, Standard, Premium tariffs and the mobile tariff, which is not available in Germany.

According to the English-language specialist medium Broadband TV News, there have even been massive price drops of up to 50 percent on Netflix’s basic tariff, while the premium subscription is up to 17 percent cheaper.

And not only distant countries like Kenya and the Philippines get a significantly reduced price list from Netflix: The streaming price also falls significantly in the European countries Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and other countries in the Balkans.

Netflix is also lowering prices in Europe – but probably not in Germany

Instead of 7.99 euros, the Netflix basic tariff in the Balkans will only cost 4.99 euros, while the premium tariff has been reduced from 11.99 euros to 9.99 euros. According to Cordcutter News, free upgrades from Basic to Standard were also offered in some places.

No comparable measure is currently foreseeable for Germany. After all, Netflix only recently introduced an advertising-supported basic tariff in order to be able to present a particularly cheap offer in Germany and on various other markets.
