The Warrior series made its return to Netflix with hardly any promo, but fans were in for a treat as season 2 is already placed in the top 10.
July 2020. Netflix adds the Warrior Nun series to its catalog, an adaptation of a series of comic books released between 1994 and 2005. We follow Ava (Alba Baptista), a young atheist woman who has come back to life thanks to the Halo, an artifact we implanted in his back. Here you are now a member of an ancient order that has given itself the mission of fighting demons on Earth.
The first season had been very well received by Netflix subscribers. On AlloCiné, it even reaches the score of 3.4/5. But since the announcement of its renewal in August 2020, the platform has not given additional information to the point where we had even forgotten its existence…
Good news, Warrior Nun returned on November 10, after more than two years of absence due to the pandemic. A season 2 shortened to 8 episodes (against 10 for the first) which must answer very specific questions after the explosive finale: who is Adriel really and where does he come from? What is his project? Is Mary (Toya Turner) still alive? What happened to Lilith (Lorena Andrea)?
Season 2 of Warrior Nun explores even more the mythology imagined by Ben Dunn and offers us some surprising revelations, while marking the arrival of two important new characters… Expect even more fights and beautiful choreography. The actors once again shot in Spain, in historic settings, despite the health situation in the country.
Even if Netflix did no promotion in France around this season 2 – not even a small trailer – the fans responded present. Warrior Nun is currently the third top on the platform, trailing behemoths The Crown and Manifest, but overtaking Inside Man and Dahmer. Spectators are now waiting for only one thing: a season 3!
