It’s a hit every summer: The Summer When I Became Pretty is a series for teenagers that reeks of romance, drama and sunshine. This fiction available on Prime Video has won over its audience, who are impatiently awaiting a third season.
If you are one of them and you don’t know what to watch in the meantime, we recommend a new series, which has just landed on Netflix and which is in the vein of The Summer I Became Pretty.
One daughter, two brothers, several possibilities
As in Jenny Han’s fiction, this new series tells the story of a love triangle between a young teenager and two brothers with whom she lives in an idyllic setting. Forget the seaside resort of Cousin’s Beach, head to the vast expanses of Colorado for this romance full of twists and turns.
Entitled My Life with the Walter Boys, this series is also the adaptation of a successful novel, that of Ali Novak, published in 2022. Created by Melanie Halsall, this fiction in ten episodes tells the story of Jackie’s emancipation Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a 15-year-old New Yorker, living in a wealthy environment.

Her life is turned upside down when she loses her parents and her older sister in an accident. The young girl is forced to leave her privileged and tidy life in New York to settle in the Colorado countryside and live with the Walter family, led by Katherine, played Sarah Rafferty (Suits, Chicago Med).
The latter, who became Jackie’s guardian, was the best friend of her missing mother and she has a very large family with her husband George, played by Marc Blucas (Riley in Buffy the Vampire Slayer). At the Walters’ house, there are around ten turbulent boys.
And among them are nerdy Alex (Ashby Gentry) and mysterious Cole (Noah LaLonde), who will turn Jackie’s head. But the girl tries not to be disturbed by her feelings in her chaotic new home because she is determined to get into Princeton.

As she struggles to adjust to her new life, the feelings and tensions Jackie tries to repress threaten to ruin everything. Will she be able to stay loyal to herself and find love despite everything?
My Life with the Walter Boys is in line with the new series for teens that are rosy, caring, refreshing and a little marshmallowy, like Outer Banks, My First Times and The Summer I Became Pretty. Combining first emotions, family problems and the quest for identity, the new Netflix fiction has everything to please the platform’s subscribers and ensure pleasant evenings of binge-watching.
