You only have a few days left to (re)discover the DC Comics film “Justice League”, which will definitely leave the Netflix catalog on July 14!
Who hasn’t dreamed of seeing Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman or even Flash share the poster for the same feature film? Long fantasized, the crossover project finally saw the light of day in 2017 with Justice League, presented at the time as the culmination of the DC Comics film franchise initiated by Man of Steel… but ultimately becoming a symbol of its decline against rival Marvel !
After the mixed reactions encountered by his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder has returned for this new superhero production, but no longer enjoys the confidence of Warner Bros. studio executives, due in particular to his style considered too dark. Struck by a family mourning, the filmmaker finally leaves his functions in the middle of editing, replaced in the process by Joss Whedon, the director of the first two Avengers.
Supposed to succeed Snyder to oversee the film’s post-production, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer finally directed the filming of new sequences, required by the studio for the sole purpose of bringing more humor to the feature film. In the end, it is therefore a hybrid film born from the vision of two directors with radically different styles which is released on our screens on November 15, 2017. But Justice League is then greeted by disastrous press returns, then box office figures. well below expectations…
While a new edit unveiled in March 2021 finally brought Zack Snyder’s original vision to fruition in a four-hour edit (titled Zack Snyder’s Justice League), with the addition of an alternate ending sequence shot in full confinement, it is indeed the “cinema” version of Justice League which is currently offered on Netflix.
Whether you are one of the few fans of this version supervised by Joss Whedon, or whether you have never seen this film, do not wait to see it (again), since Justice League will definitively leave the Netflix catalog on July 14! It will nevertheless be possible to watch it later on Prime Video, since the film will be available on the Amazon platform from the same date!
