The American channel The CW has announced that its flagship series “Riverdale” – offered in France on Netflix – will end at the end of its seventh season, scheduled for next year.
A few weeks ago, the renewal of Riverdale for a seventh season hinted that the end of the series has not yet arrived. However, the American channel The CW has finally revealed that this new season will ultimately be the last, thus announcing the final chapter of the adventures of Archie and Jughead.
Adaptation of Archie comics, very popular across the Atlantic, Riverdale follows the adventures of young teenagers in a small American town. Originally conceived as a dark and realistic series, the program very quickly evolved into something more offbeat, via situations as wacky as they were incredible: musical episodes, grotesque reversals of situations, introduction of supernatural elements, etc…
In France, the series has been offered since its debut on Netflix, where it remains very popular with subscribers to the platform. Several spin-offs have also emerged, without however meeting a similar success to that of the main series: The new adventures of Sabrina (2 seasons available) or even Katy Keene (cancelled at the end of its first season).
