This Saturday is One Piece Day 2023, the opportunity for announcements of all kinds around the license. We were thus entitled to that of a Character Pass 2 For One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 with some Gear5 in the program. The other big chunk of the day is the release of a long trailer for Netflix’s live-action adaptation, whose teaser last month revealed the August 31 release date. We discover in passing the VF, even if it is English which is the original version, and the appearance of many characters, some of whom are already debated on the Web.

The video therefore begins with the obligatory passage that is the execution of Pirate King Gol D. Roger To Logue Townembodied on screen by a very convincing Michael Dorman by launching his famous line giving birth to a new era of piracy and the search for the One Piece. It is in this same context that garp (Vincent Regan) and obviously soldiers of the Marine. The powers of sound Bara Bara no Mi also render very well on screen, just like the butler Merrywho is about to be sliced by the sharp claws of Kurovery threatening, without the latter being shown.
We also discover for the first time the appearance of Pisces-Men with Kuroobi (Jandre le Roux) confronting Sanji (Taz Skylar) inside the Baratie, showing off his footwork. His conflicting relationship with Zoro (Mackenyu Arata) is already looming and it does not displease us. We then find the two characters at Arlong Parkconfronting the crew of the latter, and it seems that the place has been adapted into a kind of water parkWhy not after all. Arlong (McKinley Belcher III) should also have an important presence over the episodessince a plan shows it to us in what seems to be the lair of baggy And flying Luffy through the front door of Baratie, while he does not set foot there in the original work. The floating restaurant will have many mooring docks, a rather welcome addition.
On the other hand, the face ofArlong risk of not being unanimous…At least he’s menacing in his own way and will use his sword well Kiribachi during the duel in his fortress. The significant scene where Luffy give his hat to Nami will it be well transcribed, remains to be seen if the emotions will follow. A glimpse of the face of Shanks (Peter Gadiot) also has something to disappointbecause it seems that we are far from the charisma of theEmperor… Let’s hope his performance will change our minds. It is quite the opposite for mihawk (Steven Ward), who is already imposing. THE VFX on the elastic body of Luffy pass them quite well on the screen and the action scenes with the crew of the Straw hat are already rather promising, even the simple shooting of slingshots fromUsopp (Jacob Romero Gibson).
Finally, to end, we find our protagonist and Koby (Morgan Davies) in front of a bounty board, the latter having pink hair this time. Perhaps the transition from blond to this color will therefore be linked to the scenario. This is an opportunity to see some easter eggs with in addition to the wanted noticeAlvidathose from Foxy the silver fox from the arch of Davy Back Fightwho looks as ridiculous as in the manga, from the handsome Cavendish which does not appear before dressrosa after the timeskip and Bellamy the hyena To Jaya, who will not have stolen his nickname with such a face. A good way to show the extent of the world of One Piece from the start.

In addition, One Piece author Eiichirō Oda shared a message for fans, which has been translated into French, where he talks about how far he has come and what such a live-action production entails, while being humble.
