This week-end, netflix organized his event TUDUM, with a big main presentation and several others dedicated to different territories, including Japan. Needless to say, animation was at the heart of this one. Some of the projects present had already been discussed in June during the Geek Week or even before, while others have been unveiled for the occasion, we are thinking in particular of the nice surprise for fans of a certain license of Capcom : Onimusha ! And to get off to a good start, we were entitled to an interpretation of the main theme of bubble then Perfect Time of The Seven Deadly Sins by Hiroyuki Sawano accompanied by an orchestra, with mpi and Mika Kobayashi on vocalsenough to set the mood.

- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean (Available) – Fairouz Ai intervened to quickly talk about the series, the first 24 episodes of which are currently available.
- Onmyōji: The One Who Talks to Demons (2023) – Baku Yumemakura’s Onmyōji novels are going to get their anime adaptation, but only a few concept art of locations and protagonist Seimei have been shown.
- Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre (January 19, 2023) – A sneak peek in the form of simple visuals made it possible to see what the Tomié episodes will look like: the photographs, The room with quadruple doors, The hanging balloons and The intruder, as well as the date of their arrival on the platform at within this “Macabre Anthology”. We learn in passing that Riho Sugiyama, Daisuke Kishio, Rie Suegara, Yumiri Hanamori, Yūji Mitsuya and Hiro Shimono will dub certain characters, without further details.
- Tiger & Bunny 2 Part 2 (October 7) – The arrival date of the 12 new episodes has been revealed, the wait won’t be very long now. It was Wild Tiger seiyū and Barnaby Brooks Jr., Hiroaki Hirata and Masakazu Morita, respectively, who delivered this information to fans with a quick rundown along the way.
- Moonrise (2024) – Wit Studio’s series depicting a war between rebels living on the Moon and the inhabitants of Earth has received its first video teaser. And, yes, it is Hiromu Arakawa, the mangaka known for Full Metal Alchemist, who did the chara design of the characters, while Tou Ubukata was in charge of the script and Masashi Koizuka of the realization. However, you will have to be very patient before enjoying it.
- My Daemon – This unique project from Hirotaka Adachi was introduced with a simple illustration of its protagonist living in Tokyo, Kento, accompanied by a demon he found in the woods and which looks like a dog, named Anna… After his mother has been the victim of an accident, he will go on an adventure to try to save her. The Thai company Igloo Studio will be in charge of the animation. In short, wait & see.
- Make My Day (February 2023) – A conflict between Humanity and extraterrestrials, this is the science fiction story that Yasuo Ōtagaki, known for MS Gundam Thunderbolt, will offer us. The main characters will be played by Masaomi Yamahashi, Ayahi Takagaki, Kazuhiro Yamaji and Akio Otsuka, while concept art of a bipedal robot named Casper has been shown, which will accompany Jim. Its final appearance will be by Shōji Kawamori, known as the mecha designer and co-creator of Macross.
- exception (October 13) – The anime showed itself in more detail with visuals taken from its recent trailer (see the October program), revealing its horrifying orientation in addition to its already known SF dimension. The 5 survivors that we will follow have cloned themselves aboard the ship they found and which is capable of terraforming planets, except that one of the replicas of Luis has become a monster that now threatens them. It is again Hirotaka Adachi who proposed this scenario, which we will be able to judge on the spot in a few days, while the character design has been entrusted to Yoshitaka Amano. Yes, it was felt from the announcement, although the rendering is divisive. The soundtrack was entrusted to Ryūichi Sakamoto, whose main theme was unveiled, accompanying the opening credits.
- The Wandering Walls (Available) – A simple reminder of the recent release of this film was made, with the broadcast of a message from seiyū Mutsumi Tamura and Asami Seto.
- The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 (December 2022) – A never-before-seen trailer for this first original film set 14 years after Nakaba Suzuki’s manga was introduced by Ayumu Murase, who voices Tristan, the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth. The scenario of the two feature films comes from the mangaka and will make the link with Four Knights of the Apocalypse.
- The Way of the apron season 2 (January 2023) – The adaptation of this seinen combining slice of life and comedy will continue at the beginning of next year. The first visuals already have something to smile about.
- Lookism (4 November 2022) – Adapted from a Korean webtoon, the story will follow a teenager with an unflattering physique, victim of teasing and harassment of all kinds, who will wake up one fine morning in another body, perfect in every way, which will change him life. Studio Mir is in charge of this series, whose theme song is performed by the boy band ATEEZ.
- Romantic Killer (October 27, 2022) – Anzu is a nerd who loves video games, chocolate and her cat, and her life will change overnight when the magician Riri will appear in front of her, wishing her love life would be as prolific as a dating sim. Except that if she falls in love, her “passions” will be confiscated forever, so she will have to do everything to avoid succumbing. This adaptation of the eponymous manga promises good laughs! In addition, this character duo will have Rie Takahashi and Mikako Komatsu as seiyū. The broadcast trailer can be found in the October program.
- Tekken: Bloodline (available) – A reminder that this series on Jin Kazama’s youth can be viewed has been made…
- Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Available) – … the same goes for the original story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and which restored the appeal of the game.
- Onimusha – No, you’re not dreaming, Capcom’s license will receive its very first anime adaptation thanks to the Sublimation studio, already at the origin of Dragon’s Dogma in this format. We find Takashi Miike as director, accompanied by Shinya Sugai, while the main character Miyamoto Musashi will have the features of the late actor Toshirō Mifune. The story will follow his quest to defeat the Genma by wielding the legendary oni gauntlet. The aesthetics will mix 3D CGI for the characters and hand drawings for the sets, the first glimpse of which only bodes well.
- ONI: Thunder God’s Tale – Directed by Dice Tsutsumi from a screenplay by Mari Okada, Tonko House was responsible for the animation of this production featuring a tengu named Onari, whose goal is to overcome a vile demon. The video released dates back to June, but is worth a look.
- Rilakkuma’s Theme Park Adventure (Available) – The teddy bear returned last August for new stop motion adventures.
- Baki Hanma season 2 – Baki’s sequel is in production.
- Bastard!! – Heavy metal, dark fantasy – (available) – The adaptation of Kazushi Hagiwara’s manga has been released on the platform in recent months.
- Record of Ragnarok II (2023) – The sequel to Valkyrie Apocalypse is scheduled for next year, still with the same concept of battles between 13 gods and as many human fighters.
- Kengan Ashura season 2 (2023) – Fighting based on martial arts, this is again what Kengan Ashura’s sequel will offer.
- Aggretsuko season 5 (February 2023) – The Office Worker Red Panda will be back for a final season early next year.
- Gudetama: An Eggoric Adventure (December 13) – A fun series mixing real shots and digital additions following the egg yolk Gudetama and the chick Shakipiyo who are going to find their mother, a hell of a delirium!
Beyond the animated projects presented during TUDUM Japanthe global event has also resulted in the release of the first teaser trailer for season 2 ofAlice in Borderland. This long-awaited sequel to the adaptation live action of Haro Asō’s manga expected in December was therefore entitled to a video showing an overview of the new deadly games that Ryōhei Arisu, Yuzuha Usagi and the other survivors of “The Beach” will have to overcome.
