After Britney Spears, it is another abused and exploited pop culture icon who will be entitled to her documentary on Netflix. Pamela Anderson will be at the heart of this film directed by Ryan White (The Keepers) which will allow the former star of Baywatch to tell her truth and her story in which she defines herself as a survivor and not as a victim.

Pamela Anderson therefore intends to regain control of the media narrative of her life if we are to believe her post on Instagram. The Netflix documentary will be a way for her to make her voice heard: “My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misconceptions. Wicked, wild and lost. Not up to par. I can only surprise you. Not a victim but a survivor. Alive to tell the true story.”

This documentary, which took years to develop, also seems to be a response to the recent Pam & Tommy series on Disney+, made without his consent. This show looks back on her tumultuous relationship with her former companion Tommy Lee and the scandal of their sextape stolen and released without their consent in the 1990s.

A source close to the star told Entertainment Weekly that she had no intention of watching the series: “I know she’ll never watch. Not even later, not years from now. Not even the trailer”. Pamela Anderson will therefore focus on this new documentary in order to restore the truth and her story in an exclusive way by means of unpublished archive images and personal diaries.
