Netflix: Parents can now control their children better

With new parental controls and profiles, Netflix wants to give parents even more control over what kids see. All of this is now possible.

Age-approved profiles

Different profiles have been available for a long time – including extra children's profiles. In the meantime, however, you can also set a certain age rating for a normal and a child profile. For example, young people in the household cannot access FSK-18 titles and the very young rascals are only allowed to watch films and series from six or zero years old. The profiles can be secured with individual PINs accordingly.

In addition, automatic playback can also be switched on and off for children's profiles. In addition, individually selected titles can be blocked for the corresponding profiles – for example, if parents do not want the same children's series to run in the background for what feels like a thousandth time or if, in the opinion of the legal guardian, certain titles are not suitable for their own child. Support for less technical users is available in the "Help Center" from Netflix.
