Once again, netflix just signed on for an interesting project around a beloved franchise. The video-on-demand service has just announced Scott Pilgrim The Animea never-before-seen animated series that will bring back the entire cast of Edgar Wright’s 2010 filmitself based on comics published since 2004.

The dream cast won’t stop at voice actors, as comic book writers and artists Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski will play producers alongside original film director Edgar Wright, while Science SARU (Devilman Crybaby, Inu-Oh) will provide animation. Eunyoung Choi will serve as executive producer for the studio and Abel Gongora will direct. The script is still under wraps, but it looks like we’re headed toward a retelling of the comic book narrative already told in the movie. The comments of the producers also suggest that production is well advancedand that we should not wait so long before seeing more.
