Stranger Things is arguably one of the most interesting original series on netflixbut it should end soon with season 5final chapter of the adventures ofeleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, Max and their friends. At least, in live actionbecause an animation series is on the way.
netflix indeed comes fromannounce that he had launched the production ofan animated series Stranger Thingswith the Duffer Brothers as executive producersthe latter being the creators of the franchise. Upside Down Pictures will also be producing, as well as Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen (21 Laps) and Eric Robles (Flying Bark Productions). Obviously, internally, there has already been some pre-production, because the Duffer brothers say:
We’ve always dreamed of an animated version of Stranger Things, in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons we grew up with, and seeing that dream come true has been absolutely thrilling.
We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with – the scripts and artwork are amazing, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure goes on…
We’ll have to settle for that for now, netflix does not indicate when this anime series will air Stranger Things on its platform. As a reminder, the franchise has already been declined in other media, with for example the play Stranger Things: The First Shadow or the video game Stranger Things VRexpected on virtual reality headsets during winter 2023.
