Series Stranger Things began in 2016 and takes us on a band of teenagers whose youth will soon be confronted with violent supernatural phenomena. New episodes were released in 2017, but the producer made us wait almost 2 years to discover the third season in 2019.
Since then, the COVID-19 has been there, and the ambitions of the directors being quite high, the production dragged on. The teasers have multiplied, but we finally see the end of the tunnel: after unveiling a series of posters showing the heroes in Russia, in a laboratory, in the house of creel and in California, netflix confirms the or rather the release dates of season 4. It will indeed be split into 2 parts: the Volume 1 will be released on May 27, 2022, and the Volume 2 July 1. And here is its official synopsis:
It has been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Grappling with its aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made it any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a horrific new supernatural threat surfaces, introducing a gruesome mystery that, if solved, could finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
And as the posters mention, this season will mark the beginning of the end for Stranger Things. The showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer explained in a post thatthey were going to stop the series netflix with its future season 5, in order to tell what they wanted to propose from the beginning as they wish. They also mention “other exciting stories to tell in the Stranger Things universe”, which leaves the door open for spin-offs of all kinds. But before thinking about the conclusion, we will therefore be entitled to a longer and richer season 4 than ever.
