“Baby Reindeer” is one of the current hits on Netflix and has been streamed millions of times. But this new drama series overtakes the dark stalker story in the top 10.
“Reindeer Baby” has become an absolute hit on Netflix and is even on its way to entering the ultimate list of the provider’s 10 most successful series. Above all, the apparently true circumstances of the stalker story surrounding lawyer Martha Scott have been hotly discussed in recent weeks.
After its launch in April, “Reindeer Baby” catapulted itself straight to the top of the current Netflix Top 10 charts, but another drama series has now snatched this place. The new number 1 is “The Asunta Case”, which is about a scary kidnapping case that happened in real life.
In the true crime series, 12-year-old Asunta from Spain is reported missing to the police by her adoptive parents, but suspicion quickly falls on the two themselves and their innocence is questioned. In the six-episode miniseries, the case is analyzed in detail and the relationships between the parents and their daughter are closely examined.
The events in the series refer to the real murder case of Asunta Basterra in 2013. The kidnapped girl was born as Fong Yang in China and was married in 2001 at the age of nine months by the couple Alfonso Basterra (Tristán Ulloa, “Berlin – House of Money” ) and Rosario Porto (Candela Peña) from Santiago de Compostela. What followed is skillfully depicted in the dark Netflix series with detailed investigations.
