After a few years in journalism in the early 2000s and a few strategic positions in various companies, Roberto Barrera spent 11 years at PlayStation, where he notably participated in the acquisition of Gaikai in July 2012 for the sum of 380 million dollars. , an operation that was Sony’s biggest acquisition in video games at the time. Roberto Barrera was then strategic and commercial director of PlayStation Now and then director of corporate strategy for Sony Interactive Entertainment from the spring of 2018.

At Netflix, Roberto Barrera joins a team led by Mike Verdu, the vice-president in charge of the development of the video game activity (past by Electronic Arts and Oculus) and Amir Rahimi, the vice-president of game studios (past by Electronic Arts and Zynga).
