AlloCiné tells you which films are coming to Netflix in April 2023, between new releases and catalog additions. Mark your calendars!
THE UNAVOIDABLE
April 14: Seven Kings Must Die
Notice to fans of The Last Kingdom, the adventures of its hero Uhtred of Bebbanburg (Alexander Dreymon) are not completely over. Although the series ended after its fifth season, the adaptation of the literary series Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwell ends with… a film!
This feature film entitled Seven Kings Must Die will bring a definitive conclusion to the story of Uhtred, who has no choice but to embark on a final battle between the potential successors of the recently deceased King Edward and invaders coveting the crown.
April 28: AKA
Star of the Lost Ball franchise, Alban Lenoir is back in a new Netflix production. In AKA, he plays Adam Franco, an undercover agent, doing dirty work wherever needed. A new mission is offered to him: to integrate a mafia organization in France to thwart an imminent terrorist attack in the capital.
This detective film directed by Morgan S. Dalibert (director of photography on Balle Perdue) promises a nervous plot and supercharged action. To the rest of the cast: Eric Cantona, Thibault de Montalembert, Sveva Alviti and Saidou Camara.
HIGHLIGHTS
April 7: Chupa
The family film of the month for April is called Chupa! Directed by Jonás Cuarón (Desierto) and produced by Chris Columbus, among others, this feature film with the misleading title tells the story of a lonely young boy visiting his family in Mexico.
There, he will attach himself to a fantastic creature, a chupacabra, which is hiding on his grandfather’s ranch. In order to save the animal, Alex and his cousins must embark on the adventure of their lives… We note in the cast Demián Bichir, Christian Slater, Evan Whitten and Julio Cesar Cedillo.
April 19: Power Rangers: Always Into the Future
Nostalgia alert! The superheroes of our childhood are back in the film Power Rangers: Always towards the future, which allows the reunion of the original interpreters of the series initiated in 1993. The fans will be able to find Rocky DeSantos (Red Power Ranger), Zack Taylor ( Black Power Ranger), Billy Cranston (Blue Power Ranger), and Kat Hillard (Pink Power Ranger).
In this new feature film, which smells good of nostalgia, the Power Rangers find themselves confronted with a familiar threat from the past: Rita Repulsa! In the face of an international crisis, they are once again called upon to be the heroes the world needs. Are they still up to it?
