We all want to watch good series, but we don’t all have a lot of time to allocate to it. In addition, you can very well embark on a series of 3 or 4 seasons and ultimately learn along the way that it never had an end! But fortunately, for cases like that, there are miniseries.
The miniseries has the advantage of telling a condensed story in a season of around 10 episodes maximum and of being able to be seen without imposing a long-term commitment. The victory of failure
It is The Queen’s Game which occupies the top of the podium with a rating of 4.4 out of 5. It is THE series which has succeeded in putting chess back in the spotlight. The show tells in 7 episodes the journey of Beth Harmon, a real-life chess prodigy, from the age of 8 to 22, as well as her torments, including the fight against addiction. Actress Anya Taylor-Joy (Furiosa) plays Beth Harmon, and fascinates with her precision and incredible accuracy.
The top is very varied since we find biopics, but also horror (The Haunting of Hill House), social-societal (In their sight, Unbelievable), thriller (Ripley, adaptation of the novels about Tom Ripley from The Talented Mr. Ripley) and even straight-up westerns (Godless).
Be careful though, In Their Eyes and Unbelievable tackle the subject of rape. The first follows the conviction for rape on the basis of false accusations of 5 teenagers of color, the second presents the investigation of two detectives looking for a serial rapist and a victim who finds himself in the dock.
