The adaptation of the “Cheetard” in series by Netflix is revealed: discover the first images with Deva Cassel, the daughter of Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel.
The classic of Franco-Italian cinema from 1963, The Cheetah, signed Luchino Visconti and holder of a Palme d’or, will be adapted into a series, by Netflix. In the casting, we can discover a certain Deva Cassel, daughter of Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel.
As announced by ELLE, the platform has indeed published on its social networks a first preview of its new original production, which like the cult film – which starred Alain Delon, Claudia Cardinale and Burt Lancaster – is based on the novel from 1958 of the same name by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa.

The revamped historical drama is currently filming in the cities of Palermo, Syracuse and Catania (via Variety). Composed of six episodes, it should see the light of day in 2024. Deva Kasselmeanwhile, aged 18 and following in the footsteps of her famous parents, will play the character of Angelica Sedara, played by Claudia Cardinale in the feature film. The young actress is also announced for the casting of the film La bella estate (Beautiful Summer in English), an Italian feature film which will be presented at the Locarno Film Festival next August.

If Netflix will offer a more modern version of the iconic work, the plot will however be the same. As a reminder, in Cheetah, we are in 1860, when Sicily is overwhelmed by the upheavals of Garibaldi and his Red Shirts. Prince Salina then goes with all his family to his residence in Donnafugata. Foreseeing the decline of the aristocracy, the latter accepts a misalliance and marries his nephew Tancrède to the daughter of the mayor of the city, Angelica Sedara, representing the rising class.
The series will also star Italian actors Kim Rossi Stuart, Benedetta Porcaroli and Saul Nanni. Check out a few more shots below:
