Building on its success, the first opus was followed by two sequels: one released in 1987 and directed by Tony Scott and the other released in 1994 and directed by John Landis. They did not, however, receive the acclaim or success of the original.

Produced by Eddie Murphy and Jerry Bruckheimer, among others, the new action comedy, directed by Mark Molloy this time from a screenplay by Will Beall, will be the fourth part of the cult saga, a long-awaited part after having spent many years in development.

Entitled Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley in VO, the feature film, expected soon on Netflix, will also feature Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

While waiting to find Eddie Murphy in his cult role, the first 3 parts of the saga are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
