It’s Halloween early on Netflix. After the series The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Minuit Sermons and Midnight Club, the platform lifts the veil on The Fall of the House of Usher, a new creation by Mike Flanaghan. It is an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic for which the showrunner finds many of his favorite actors.

The trailer for the series, made up of eight episodes, is there to reassure us: director Mike Flanaghan has lost none of his sense of direction and his taste for horrific images. The Fall of the House of Usher promises to be a family bloodbath, something to delight fans of horror and Succession.

The story follows the destiny of the ruthless Roderick and Madeline Usher, brother and sister, founders of an empire, Fortunato Pharmaceuticals, where power, wealth and privilege coexist. But secrets from the past will resurface as the heirs of the Usher family disappear one after the other.

In the cast, we find Bruce Greenwood – who replaced Frank Langella, fired from the series after accusations of sexual assault on the set -, Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas, but also Mark Hamill, Mary McDonnell, Kate Siegel, Willa Fitzgerald or T’Nia Miller again.

The Fall of the House of Usher, available October 12 on Netflix.
