Netflix: the Resident Evil series is revealed in a first trailer, and it’s very surprising

BRIEF // After the disaster Welcome to Raccoon City released in 2021, Netflix’s turn to tackle the video game horror saga resident Evil, in series this time. The first images suggest a radically different direction.

If we tell you resident Evil and you’re thinking teenage girls, dancing teddy bears and London, you’re most likely a screenwriter at Netflix. The Los Gatos platform has just unveiled the first images of its adaptation of the video game saga, and we can say that they take a radical opposite from previous adaptations.

Unlike the completely missed Welcome to Raccoon City, released in theaters last year, the Red N series seems to be distancing itself from the source material, or at least just the backdrop to craft an entirely new story — why did you use this license instead of just using it? create a new one you will ask us, rightly. It’s hard not to be skeptical given the usual quality of video game adaptations in general, particularly those of resident Evil. But we will recognize at least in this one a certain audacity at a time when fashion is rather fan service. See you on July 14 to find out more.
