The first day of the Netflix Geek Week 2022 has taken place in the last few hours, giving us its share of new previews of the series which will land on the service in the future. The trailer for the event featured The Sandman, the adaptation of the work of Neil Gaiman strongly awaited by an entire community. Well we were spoiled with the broadcast during a dedicated panel of an impressive trailer revealing the broadcast date !
Good news, the wait won’t be very long, because The Sandman will be broadcast from August 5, 2022 ! On the screenplay side, the absence of the Master of Dreams Dream (Dream) played by Tom Sturridge for centuries has led to a series of events changing the waking world and Dreaming. Upon his return, he will therefore have to travel between these two planes of existence and through time to correct these errors, meeting old friends and enemies along the way, but also new faces, whether human or not. Among the cast staged by the showrunner Allan Heinberg, we find among others Gwendoline Christie in LuciferMason Alexander Park in Desire (Longed for), Kirby Howell-Baptiste will play the Dead (Death), Jenna Coleman will camp Johanna ConstantineVivienne Acheampong will be Lucienne and Boyd Holbrook the Corinthian. Merv Pumpkinhead will be doubled by none other than Mark Hamill!
