As the series “Terminator Zero” arrives on August 29, Netflix unveils a new trailer that is much more violent. Watch out. Discover the images?
Starting August 29th – Judgment Day in the Terminator universe – the Netflix platform is launching Terminator Zero, an animated series designed by the Japanese studio Production IG, which helmed the classic Ghost in the Shell. To accompany the release, the streaming giant has revealed a new uncensored trailer, going all out on the violent sequences. On the program: torn off limbs, blood everywhere and impressive action scenes.
The show’s creator, Mattson Tomlin, had already warned about the explicit nature of the series. In the columns of the magazine Empirethe showrunner explained that he wanted to push the horror of the previous films a little further: “I wanted to focus more on the body horror and slasher spirit of the first film, which was similar to Friday the 13th or A Nightmare on Elm Street.“
Among the inspirations behind Terminator Zero, Mattson Tomlin looked to J-Horror, a term for Japanese-style horror.We focused on the dark side and our determination of what to show and what to leave invisible.” he added.
What will the series be about?
The synopsis of this series composed of eight episodes is as follows: “2022. A war has been raging for decades between the few surviving humans and an endless army of machines. 1997. The AI known as Skynet has become self-aware and has begun its war against humanity.“
Trapped between the future and the past, a warrior is sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee who is working on a new artificial intelligence that will rival Skynet. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by a relentless assassin from the future.
As a reminder, the voice of the Terminator is played by actor Timothy Olymphant (the series Justified, Die Hard 4).
