The year 2024 promises to be rich in films and series on Netflix, starting in January. In a few days, a British anticipation film arrives on the platform and it could well get people talking, if its promising trailer is anything to go by.

Kane Robinson, or Kano to rap fans, known for his role as Sully in the series Top Boy, is starring in this dystopian thriller called The Kitchen. This is the first production by Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) who teams up with Kibwe Tavares to write and direct this punchy film.

In the near future, each city has its “Kitchen” where the poorest populations are reclusive due to lack of social housing which has been removed by the wealthy and other crooked politicians.

In London, the gap between the rich and the poor has reached its limits and extreme gentrification for an infinite part of the population will lead to a violent civil war.

Against this backdrop of social injustice, a father and son try to get by, however they can… The Kitchen is one of the last places available for London’s most disadvantaged residents who refuse to give up their community and this establishment.

The effective trailer promises an action-packed thriller but also filled with emotion with a touching and determined duo. The Kitchen cast includes Kane Robinson (Top Boy), Jedaiah Bannerman, Hope Ikpoku Jr, Teija Kabs, Demmy Ladipo, Cristale and BackRoad Gee.

The Kitchen film will be available on January 19 on Netflix.
