Streaming platforms like Netflix offer a large catalog of films, series, anime and other documentaries from around the world, which subscribers can binge-watch as they wish.
And if the pleasure of watching a film or series is often solitary in the comfort of the sofa or bed, it is also pleasant to watch content with your partner, friends or family.
But sometimes your loved ones are not nearby. Do you still want to plan a viewing party with them? Know that this is possible! And this thanks to a simple and effective maneuver. Here is our tutorial.
To organize movie or series evenings with others, despite the distance, all you need to do is download a browser extension (free!) which is simply called Netflix Party. Thanks to this extension, you can watch your favorite movies and series with up to 50 users simultaneously, anywhere in the world.
While watching, you can even communicate with your friends who are watching at the same time as you using a group chat (the history of which is not preserved).

So you just have to go to your browser (note, this only works on Google Chrome) and type “Netflix Party” in the search bar. A link will then send you to the download of this extension.

All you have to do is click on the download link and the extension will integrate directly into your Chrome browser. You can now start a watch party on Netflix.

Go to your Netflix account and launch the series of your choice (let’s take Elite, for example, for screenshots). Then click on the Netflix Party extension logo on your browser. A tab will appear and you can click on “Start the party”.

Netflix Party then offers you a link which you will be able to share with everyone you want to watch the series with. Make sure each viewing partner has a Netflix account and has Netflix Party installed to enjoy it.
A cat also appears so you can chat in real time with your loved ones while watching the program.
Some final information to take into account before embarking on a “watch party”: we remind you that Netflix Party is ONLY available on the Google Chrome browser. And this extension ONLY works on laptops and desktops, you can’t use it on smartphones, tablets or smart TVs.
