Umbrella Academy is undoubtedly one of the big hits of the moment on netflix. This series adapted from the comics of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá has already had 2 seasons around a family of dysfunctional superheroes, and it plans to return for at least a third, confirmed from 2020.
Fan salute is coming: netflix just confirmed the broadcast date of this season 3 which should have 10 episodes, via a short and enticing teaser. Get ready, it will be for the June 22, 2022. Their return to the present is not going to go well, as evidenced by the official synopsis of this sequel to the adventure.
After putting an end to the 1963 apocalypse, the Umbrella Academy returns home to the present, convinced that they have prevented the initial apocalypse and have fixed this abandoned timeline once and for all. But after a brief moment of celebration, they realize that things aren’t quite (okay, not at all) the way they left them.
Enter Sparrow Academy. Smart, sleek, and about as hot as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately battle the Umbrellas in a violent clash that turns out to be the least of everyone’s worries. Navigating between challenges, losses and surprises of their own, they must face an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc on the Universe (something they may have caused). Now all they have to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them fix what their arrival has hurt.
Will they find a way to return to their pre-apocalyptic life? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a jump in the timeline?
