More than anything, I think Yu Yu Hakusho’s appeal comes from its characters, which is why I wanted to highlight Yu Yu Hakusho’s relationships and battles,” director Sho Tsukikawa told IGN.

“The visual effects we use are quite advanced, as we use state-of-the-art technology, aiming for the best possible quality. Finally, from the beginning, we were very conscious of creating a series for a global audience. Just like when I first heard about this adaptation, there may be some people who think it’s mission impossible, but no matter how I express how I feel, I believe that the work will speak for itself and prove that it is possible. I will continue to put my heart and soul into the project to bring the best Japanese entertainment to the world,” he said.

Yu Yu Hakusho should therefore stick to its schedule and arrive in live action at the end of next year on netflix. For the curious, the anime is available on Blu-ray on Amazon.co.uk.
