Netflix will stream the animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

Put on the quacking boots and put on the chick-yellow raincoats, Geralt of Rivia trades the misty forests for the humidity of a coastline that looks like a powder magazine. Called to investigate mysterious disappearances in a coastal village, the witcher will have to manage a century-old conflict between humans and inhabitants of the seas. The plot, adapted from the short story “A Little Sacrifice”, will fit neatly into the timeline of the live series between the fifth and sixth episodes of the first season.

But since Henry Cavill returned his wolf medallion a long time ago, Geralt will be played here by veteran Doug Cockle, who has played him in English since the very first game. The other characters will keep their ordinary voices: Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will reprise their roles as Yennefer and Jaskier respectively. This little world will be accompanied by actress Christina Wren (Man of Steel) in the shoes of Essi Daven, a new character designed for the needs of the plot.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep joins the well-stocked catalog of The Witcher projects at Netflix. The film will be directed by Kang Hei Chul and animated by the South Koreans from Studio Mir, already in the kitchen on the prequel The Wolf’s Nightmare, which received a triumphant critical reception in 2021. What the other cannot boast of prequel, the infamous crust live The Origin of Blood, which barely returned to the creation of the first witcher and can just boast of having soiled the CV of Michelle Yeoh (who has seen others, of course).

The real season 4 does not yet have a release date. Liam Hemsworth will take up Geralt’s sword and medallion, with the heavy task of succeeding the natural charisma – and the whole passion nerdy – from Henry Cavill, ostensibly leaving because of a dispute with the writers and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will appear on Netflix at the end of 2024 without further details. In the meantime, you can still check out the two short teasers below.
