Three identical strangers
It’s a nice feat achieved by Triada, a small Mexican series which ranked, 24 hours after its release, among the most viewed titles on Netflix. It must be said that subscribers are fond of this kind of story full of mystery and that its plot is as interesting as it is addictive.
We meet Becca (Maite Perroni), a thirty-year-old member of the forensic science who goes to a crime scene. It is there that a young woman interned in a psychiatric hospital took her doctor hostage, before receiving several bullets in the chest.
When Becca looks at the victim – who is still breathing – she is flabbergasted: she finds herself face to face with her perfect copy. However, she never had a twin sister… So she decides to investigate and quickly discovers the existence of a third woman.
Each has its own personality and history, but they now have one thing in common: they want to know where they come from and why they were separated at birth.
The first box in the series lets us know that Triada is inspired by a true story and not just any story. If you watched the Three Identical Strangers documentary, which was available on Netflix a few years ago, you’ll notice the similarities between the two stories (we won’t tell you the story). story in detail so as not to spoil the surprise for you).
With 8 episodes of 40 minutes each, Triada goes on quite quickly even if the sometimes risky production does not work in its favor.
Fans of the Dark Desire series on Netflix will be delighted to see Maite Perroni again on screen, playing not one but three different characters. If her level of play is not up to the level of the brilliant Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black when she camps the triplets, she still comes out with honors…
