New Amazon Prime Video: films, series and documentaries to watch in streaming in February 2024

Following Netflix and Disney+ a few days ago, the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform has just revealed the new films, series and documentaries joining its catalog in February 2024.

Before offering you the complete list of new Prime Video programs in February, here as usual are our favorite films and series of the month on the service.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Two lonely strangers are hired by a mysterious agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, world travel and a dream apartment in Manhattan. The problem? An arranged marriage with new identities as Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith. Now married, John and Jane execute a high-risk mission every week while facing a new milestone in their relationship.

This remake of the 2000s film with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie offers an intelligent rereading of its concept. Mr. & Mrs. Smith takes the clichés of romantic comedies and spy films and appropriates them to better explore the different facets of marriage at the heart of the story. A great success, clever and surprising, carried by the beautiful alchemy of the Donald Glover / Maya Erskine duo.

Master and Commander: On the Other Side of the World

1805, during the Napoleonic Wars, the three-masted HMS Surprisecommanded by Captain Jack Aubrey, sets out in pursuit of the French vessel Acheron across the Pacific Ocean, notably passing off the coast of the Galapagos Islands, whose fauna and flora were of great interest to surgeon Stephen Maturin, precursor of Charles Darwin. But events will upset the captain’s plans.

Released in 2003 at the same time as Pirates of the Caribbean, Master and Commander: On the Other Side of the World is undoubtedly one of the great naval war films of cinema. Director Peter Weir (The Truman Show, Dead Poets Society) delivers an epic adventure to the ends of the world, in turn drawing the viewer into impressive battles, discovering unknown lands or grabbing them by the heart with its portrait of men driven by an intimate fire of convictions. A production of crazy beauty and a stellar cast: Russell Crowe, Paul Bettany, James D’Arcy, Billy Boyd…
