Yet Magali Berdah tries to minimize the situation: “Everything is going very well with Banijay”.
But that would not be the case. Indeed, five years after the birth of their collaboration, it would seem that everything is over. “She regains her independence”, explains a relative of the agent. But why did this commercial divorce take place? The Parisian mentions first of all a drop in revenue: “Our turnover has been divided into three”, explained Magali Berdah. “A fall as brutal as its emergence was dazzling in 2018”, according to an industry expert. To this must be added the condemnation of Magali Berdah in 2019 for abuse of weakness and laundering. “In 2015, Magali Berdah allegedly extracted 222,000 euros from a 96-year-old former senior civil servant. A sanction that his shareholder discovered in the press… Banijay’s leaders did not appreciate knowing that Berdah was still managing one of his subsidiaries, despite a court order prohibiting it.”
