UA bombardment hit an “infrastructure” site in kyiv on Wednesday, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said, prompting residents to stay in shelters after a series of explosions in the capital. “An infrastructure site was hit. Russia fired around 70 cruise missiles at Ukraine on Wednesday, 51 of which were shot down, the Ukrainian Air Force said after the bombardment caused massive power cuts. “A total of about 70 Kh-101/Kh-555 Kalibr cruise missiles were fired. Air defense forces destroyed 51 missiles. In addition, five Lancet-type kamikaze drones were destroyed in the south of the country,” she said on Telegram.

The mayor of Lviv in western Ukraine, Andriï Sadovy, for his part indicated that “the whole city” was without electricity. “Problems with the water supply are possible,” he warned.

Moldova was also the victim of “massive power outages” on Wednesday following Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy sites, said Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu. “Following Russia’s bombardment of Ukraine’s energy system over the past hour, we have massive blackouts across the country,” he posted on Facebook as Moldova was already coping. to major energy problems in connection with the war in Ukraine.
