new content that changes everything

If you liked Red Dead Redemption 2, but didn’t like its story, this new content might make you want to return to the Wild West.

The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 can count on a community of passionate modders to offer new content. Such is the case with this creation from RedPeps, which looks back on the fascinating history of the game from Rockstar Games. Be careful though, to talk about it we need to deal with SPOILERS major. So don’t venture any further if you haven’t already played the game.

A redemption arc in Red Dead Redemption 2

In addition to its superb open world in which we love to get lost, Red Dead Redemption 2 shines with its story and its characters. The most endearing of all being of course Arthur Morgan, the character we play. We are going to experience crazy adventures in Dutch’s gang, which includes both adorable people and the worst scoundrels. In trying to offer a new start to this band of people left behind, Arthur must during a mission extort money from someone. In the process, our good old cowboy will unfortunately contract tuberculosis, a fatal disease at the time.

As the story progresses to a climax, the state of the anti-hero of Red Dead Redemption 2 will only get worse. Dying, Arthur will have to save his friends from the betrayal of Dutch and Micah. But these last efforts will have drained his last efforts, and this character that we accompanied for hours will die more or less peacefully. In a rather unexpected twist, the epilogue makes us embody the young John Marston, main protagonist of the first opus. This is where Arthur’s Redemption, the Red Peps mod available on Nexus Mods, comes in.

In this alternate ending, Arthur recovers from his condition and lives with the rest of Dutch’s gang. As in the first Red Dead Redemption, he will go in search of those who have caused harm to his friends. Be careful though, the mod has many bugs. The modder recommends in particular to first finish the epilogue of the game. Likewise, meeting members of the gang unforeseen by the mod can cause the game to crash. Bringing Arthur back from the dead therefore has a price.
