Will you soon receive an exceptional energy check? After the aid granted by the State for heating with wood, the government continues to help households with the lowest incomes to fight against the rise in energy prices. In the following days, nearly 12 million French will receive an exceptional energy check. Aid voted on November 23, 2022 as part of the amending finance bill. This aid is intended for the most modest households, found in the first four deciles of income.

The State has started distributing these checks for 100 to 200 euros since December 12, 2022. The sending of this exceptional check being “spread over a period of approximately eight weeks” it is carried out by departments as specified by the Ministry of Energy Transition. Thus, between January 16 and 27, 19 new departments are eligible for payment of this check. Checks are valid until March 31, 2024.

The list of departments that will receive the exceptional energy check

French people with a reference tax income per consumption unit (RFR/UC) of less than 10,800 euros will receive an energy check worth 200 euros. As for households with an RFR/UC between 10,800 euros and 17,400 euros, they will receive an energy check of 100 euros.
