The year ends in style on the Disney+ streaming platform with a lot of promising new films, series and documentaries to discover in the catalog.

Before listing all the new features for December, here are our recommendations for the month.

The Disney+ series of the month

The Patient

Psychotherapist Alan Strauss is held prisoner by a patient, Sam Fortner, who turns out to be a serial killer. When Sam visits Alan’s office, he has an unusual request: to curb his murderous impulses. To survive, Alan will have to analyze his patient’s tortured mind.

The producers of the series The Americans deliver a psychological thriller in 10 episodes, which questions the ambiguous relationship between a shrink and his patient by mixing it with a plot of serial crimes. In the main roles, Steve Carell (The Office) and Downhall Gleeson (Ex Machina) promise an intense and fascinating face-to-face. From December 14.

Spiderman

Orphan, Peter Parker is raised by his aunt May and his uncle Ben. However, after being bitten by a radioactive spider, he is subject to physical transformations. His agility and strength have increased and here he is endowed with supernatural powers. At the same time, the megalomaniac businessman Norman Osborn experiments on his person with dangerous chemical solutions. Mutations soon take place on his body and mind. He then transforms into a Green Goblin.

Directed by Sam Raimi (evil Dead), this Spiderman revolutionized the superhero film genre when it was released in 2002, marking the start of a cult trilogy. Treating Spider-Man with respect, the film gives its hero all its breath and gravity, all in the course of a visually stunning adventure, master of the genre. Raimi’s passionate imagery, Danny Elfman’s intoxicating music and Tobey Maguire’s iconic performance make Spiderman a timeless classic. From December 2.
