Like every month, before presenting you the new features on Disney+ in April, here are our favorite films and series of the month.

The Disney+ series of the month

Iwájú

In a futuristic Lagos, this animated series tells the adventures of Tola, a young girl from the nice neighborhoods, and her best friend Kole, a little self-taught genius who is a fan of new technologies. Both will soon discover the secrets and dangers hidden within their respective environments…

The result of an unprecedented collaboration between the Walt Disney animation studios and the pan-African entertainment company Kugali, this six-episode animated series plunges us into the heart of a Nigerian and African culture that is too little visible, what’s more in the programs for children. The opportunity to open the imagination by mixing adventure and Afro-futurism, all with a characteristic Disney aesthetic touch. Note that the documentary Iwájú: a new day behind the scenes of the series comes out at the same time.

Starting April 3 on Disney+.

Disney+ movie of the month

Margot and Tyler, a young couple, travel to a remote island to eat at Hawthorne, an exclusive restaurant run by Chef Slowik, whose reputation is well established. An expert in molecular gastronomy, the chef is a true artist who creates with food. But the guests have a surprise when they discover his very particular approach to cooking…

The menu is a behind-closed-doors gastronomic thriller as oppressive as it is tasty, which sprinkles its (many) twists and turns with intelligence, as a great chef would do. Written by Seth Reiss (The system of government) and Will Tracy (Succession), the film has a sense of rhythm and drama that will keep you in suspense until the end. We will also appreciate its quality casting: Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Hong Chau…

Starting April 26 on Disney+.
